Windfarms

VRG as a group maintains a neutral stance with respect to further wind farm development in the Carron Valley. When a wind farm is built, it is now accepted practice that the developer should give back some of their profit for the benefit of the Local Community. VRG was originally set up to secure and distribute the community benefit monies arising from the Craigengelt wind farm. However, we are also negotiating on your behalf with the wind farm developers to maximise benefits to the Carron Valley Community should any further wind farms be built.

The coloured areas on the map below show the approximate locations of existing operational wind farms and approved. The Carron Valley Community Council boundary is shown in green. Further details on each development can be seen by clicking on the relevant area of the map, or in the table below the map. This information was last updated in February 2016.
