VRG has relaunched the Falck Covid 19 Grant schemes.
Falck Hardship Grant
Previous applicants to the Hardship Fund are being invited to reapply for a second grant via email. We would also welcome new applications from residents who are currently experiencing financial hardship related to the pandemic. Please give details which will be treated in the strictest confidence. (Applications are anonymized prior to discussion.)
This may also apply to young people over the age of 18 who have lost work etc.
The following are examples of relevant hardship that have occurred since March 1st :
have been made unemployed
am self-employed and not been able to trade
am still furloughed
am over 70 and finding things hard
am having to care for someone and bearing additional costs
have a child/children in the house who could benefit with extra support for care and welfare
am suffering with financial difficulties-briefly explain
am having connectivity difficulties and lack of hardware
Falck Children’s Grant
As it is now the school holidays but many usual attractions and holiday venues are unavailable, VRG is also sending all households with children a further cheque for £100 towards their ‘staycation’. This is currently in progress.
Again if you were not eligible or did not apply last time, please feel free to do so now. We are aware of at least two ‘lockdown’ babies born since March!
VRG is conscious that, as well as health and material concerns arising from this epidemic, some in our community may be facing financial hardship as a consequence of it.
Thanks to a generous donation from Falck Renewables, who operate Earlsburn and Kingsburn windfarms, and with the approval of the Community Council, VRG can offer a grant of up to £100 to households who are facing such hardship.
Applications will be considered anonymously by a sub-group of Directors and their decision will be final. Further applications may be considered for continuing need.
In addition VRG can offer a single payment of £100 to each household with a child or children under 18 years of age, to be used for their benefit during this crisis.
The grant will be paid by cheque. If you wish to apply for either or both grants please complete the form and send to the Valley Renewables Group Secretary, Barbara Wilson, 2 Buckieburn, Carron Bridge, Denny, Stirlingshire FK6 5JJ email: [email protected]
