Home Energy Scotland grant update June 2024

Starting today (6 June 2024), the Scottish Government has made changes to the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan scheme. Funding is no longer available for solar PV and energy battery storage (electricity and heat batteries). Applications will not be accepted for these systems, even with heat pumps. Customers with referral links from 27 June 2023 to 6 June 2024 can apply until 31 July 2024.

Also, from 1 August 2024, self-builders will no longer be eligible for funding. Applications submitted on or after this date will not be eligible for funding.

These changes do not impact applicants with an existing written offer of funding.

These changes have been made to ensure that the scheme stays within its budget, while focusing funding on improvements that will maximise the decarbonisation of heating and the reduction of heat demand in homes.

The scheme remains open to applications for other improvements, including clean heating systems and energy efficiency improvements.

£9K grant for a clean heating system and up to £7.5K optional 0% loan

£9K grant for energy efficiency improvements and up to £7.5K optional 0% loan
