New Year, New Community Hall

The Community Hall building application was finally granted in December along with the building warrant.

The builders, Candid Construction Scotland, has been awarded the contract which will commence 13th January till, weather permitting, the end of May.

The Community Hall site is adjacent to the east of the woodland cabin and so there will be restricted access in that vicinity.
Pedestrian access will be maintained to the accessible path round the pond and the defibrillator at the cabin.
However, there will be no access from there eastwards towards the forest track during the works.

There may be temporary restrictions to the accessible path to enable upgrading of the forest track, but this will be notified in advance.

How exciting! Great news. Thanks to all involved

Grants. The budgets for the energy efficiency, young person's and warm up/costs down grants have now all been allocated so these schemes are now closed until the start of our next financial year in July.

Please note that only moneys from unrestricted funds can be used for grants for individuals or households. One of the windfarm operators doesn't allow grants to individuals or households at all.

Whilst the Board does its best to anticipate the volume of grant applications and the levels of need when we do our budgeting, it is not an exact science. The experiences of this financial year will be taken into account when budgeting for the July '25 to June '26 year.

The chairperson (chair@valleyrenewables.co.uk) would welcome any views residents may have that would help this process.
